For our Toddler St. Patrick's Day Party I made all kinds of green and rainbow foods for the children to enjoy. One was this "Shamrock Shake" named only for its color, not its similarity to McDonald's Shamrock Shake. It contained several healthy items that were blended together into a smoothie. Some of the children's mom's named it "Avocado Ice Cream". Once the children tried it, they almost all came back for seconds or thirds.
Ingredients:
1 avocado
1 banana
1/2 cup Almond Milk
1/2 cup Vanilla Kefir
1/2 cup ice
Directions:
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Add a fun straw and let your child sip away!

In our house, Eliana only drinks milk and water (with juice only only very special occasions such as Christmas). This has so many health benefits that it could become a new drink in the house. Not on an everyday basis, but I would feel much more comfortable giving this to Eliana over many other drink options. Do you have a favorite smoothie recipe?
