This was the final dress that I sewed for Eliana prior to our trip to Disney and it is my favorite!  I have been saving this post because I have been so excited with how the dress turned out and wanted to find the perfect photos to capture it.  I am not sure I could capture how much I love this dress in a picture because I partly love it due to Eliana's reaction while wearing it.  She twirled (above photos) through Epcot wearing this dress and beamed every time someone said "Hello Princess Anna".  She then wore it the next morning when we made our final trip into Magic Kingdom and met Princess Anna in person!  We had so many people stop us and ask about the dress (more than any of her other princess dresses, which also made me beam a bit too).


I used this pattern from Hey June as a base pattern and then embellished it with the pink picot edge ribbon on the bodice, flower and leaf ribbon as the straps, gold ric rac and pink bias tape.  In the end, it looked like a summer version of Princess Anna's dress:


How to turn the Edelweiss dress pattern into a Princess Anna summer dress:
 

 1.  Choose Your Fabrics: Royal Blue, Teal Green and Black.

Use a bright royal blue fabric for the skirt, a teal green colored fabric for the middle of the bodice and black fabric fabric for the sides and back of the bodice.

2. Embellish the Middle Bodice Pattern Piece:

Use pink ribbon to add detail to the front of the dress.  Pin the ribbon in a criss-cross pattern onto the teal green center fabric piece.  Take your time and sew the ribbon onto the middle bodice piece prior to sewing the rest of the bodice.




3. Add Gold Ric Rac:
